Multi-Inspections on Friday
Two big inspections on Friday. First was the "Energy Star" house efficiency inspection. Valerie from Green Power Living brought her gear to perform a 'blow' certification of the house. A passing grade means that our house does meet Energy Star standards for efficiency. Second 'really' big inspection was performed by Gordon, it was the occupational permit cert inspection. Passing this inspection means we can move furniture into the house. As you can tell by the smiles on Valerie & Gordon's faces, we passed both inspections !!!! Yippee ! :)

Vinyl Siding starts
Happy Veteran's Day
A gorgeous day in Tall Timbers, on which to thank the active & retired members of the US Armed Forces. Thank you for your service, and as the Navy hymn says, may God bless those in peril on the sea.
Awoke today to the sounds of 10-man vinyl siding install team. Woo-hoo, finally :)
Vinyl siding is a grey-ish blue color called "Driftwood" & looks great with blue roof & white trim..

Granite Tuesday !
Team from 'Solid Rock' arrived today with a truck full of beautiful counter-top stone for the new house. Seth, Matt & John brought us; 'Yellow River' granite for kitchen and dining room, 'Ubatuba' granite for den (matches the fireplace) , and some Carrera marble for the master bath. The Solid Rock guys wasted no time in hand-carrying the stone into the house, glueing/acrylic bonding the stone into place, leveling and chaulking with silicone sealant. Took them only ~4 hours to complete the job. Once the Solid Rock guys left, John's crew (Ricky, Billy & Ricky) installed the ovens into wall cabinet in the kitchen. We just need power, gas and water before 'soup's on' !
Columbus Day brick work
No rest on Columbus Day Monday. Plans for a day of relaxing & boating were deferred so we could make better use of our vacation time by working instead. John gave me & Steve a lesson in concrete mixing, chopping & paver-laying. We finished 80% of the entry door-stop area, which is just a warm-up for the riverfront facing porch. We'll start the porch (assuming good weather) on Friday. Making a run to CVS to stock up on Advil before then.
