"Window" Shopping

We took a road trip today up to Morgantown, PA, to the ViWinco Window Plant. This is the company we've decided to buy our vinyl windows from. Beautiful drive through Lancaster County (rolling hills of PA Dutch Country) on an 89 deg day, what happened to Spring ?
We had a very nice tour thru the plant and saw all steps of the manufacturing process. They make some really beautiful vinyl windows. See a video tour of the plant at the following website: http://viwinco.com/content.aspx?page=Video_Tour
Amy & Mike in customer service were great to meet and talk to. Thanks for the tour Mike !

April 5 = Concrete

Concrete for garage & house crawl space was poured on Monday. Shouldn't be long now for framing to start.

St. Pat's Day

Lots of action today, Walter finishing the garage bricks, team hooked up the well, ran the water & electric lines thru the foundation, poured pebbles into foundation & grated dirt around foundation. Spring is here, in the mid 60's, no sign of ospreys yet, but it won't be long.

Weekend Rain

Torrential rains this weekend have left us with an "in-ground swimming pool with protective moat". No gators seen yet, but might have a crab or two. Anybody got some bait ? Billy.... bring the sump pumps fast !!

Bricks

We've had some dry & warmer [61 deg today] days during past two weeks, so Walter has been making excellent progress. Blocks and bricks for house foundation are nearly complete. He'll start on garage foundation next. Meanwhile, new crews are showing up to waterproof (white stuff called "Drylok') the interior of crawl space & install the drain tiles. Walter is currently working on the riverfront steps and Steve is waving from the crawl space under the 'away room'. Happy Birthday Molly, 3 years old today !

Walter's Back

After ~1 month off due to snow & freezing temps, Walter returned to resume concrete block foundation work. He's making up for lost time at break-neck speed !
Firefighter Lou Lewis stopped by to status our progress, taking a break from putting out fires in Prince William County Virginia.

'Snowmageddon' South

Pix from in-between the last two snowstorms.
Sam-the-cat ventured out the door one day, but came back in real fast.
House masonry efforts remain on hold.... for quite awhile longer.
How bout' those Saints!
