Windows arrive

Windows for the first floor arrived on Friday afternoon. Here's Cleto, Olivio, Hector & Daniel installing the dining bump-out & master bedroom bay windows. More Tyvek & windows next Tuesday. Good luck to John Barnes & the Panther / National Guard Racing team in this years Indy 500 !

Roof'd up

Snell & Sons Roofers arrived last Thursday. Had the "Atlantic Blue" Certainteed shingles up in a day. Perfect timing as the rains came on Saturday, nice & dry inside :)

River Views

What a great day to live on the Potomac River. Perfect temps, and mirror calm water. This is living ! Here's a few pictures that we took of the house from our boat today. Hint - it's "easy" to pick out our new house from miles away :)

Fish Story

When we weren't looking at the house from the boat, we were looking for fish. Photo captions; 1) I think I have a bite, 2) YES, I do have a bite, 3) & 4) showing off 33" of Maryland Rockfish. Thanks to Jennifer & Richard for the good-luck aloha call from Hawaii. We caught this guy about 20 minutes after talking to you :)

mid May & framing continues

Dormer window on north side of house was completed on Friday. Crew also framed the curved roof above master bedroom bay window, this will be a metal curved roof when it's finished.

Under Roof !

The framing team finished the roofing over the 'basement' ('basement' is waterfront term for the attic :) Still have one dormer left to finish, plus some interior walls and river front porches/decks, then it's on to the garage. Ordered windows today, next decision ... shingles.

Windy Mothers Day weekend

Good thing it was a no-work weekend as the winds in Southern Maryland have been whipping for 2 days straight. Crew will return tomorrow in much calmer weather, and start right up where they left off on the upper roof-line. East & West walls are up, just need the rafters & sheathing in-between. Note the trees swayed over in the picture, even the cats didn't want to be out this weekend ! We made some final choices on the deck, porch and entry-way railing and columns on Saturday, 'many' more decisions yet to come...

One more roof to go

A picture perfect day for the framing team. South-side of house with newly installed roof over the dining 'bump-out'. And a shot of Cleto & his dad working on the attic drop-down ladder opening in the upstairs guest bathroom. Just a few more items left on house framing besides the upper roof. Should be finished next week, then on to the garage. Welcome Tom & Kyle to the east coast. Hump-day on the roof

Todays work included roof sheathing on street-side walls, gable & above door entry. A mighty steep pitch for Cleto!

Fabulous framing continues

2nd floor walls went up today, as did the small roof above entry door. last pix is view of house from south waterfront. We finalized our window order today, Amen !
